As-salamu 'alaykum sister,

This is an excellent post, and I cannot say how much I agree! I laughed a lot while reading this post because your reaction to indian movies was so much like mine..lol. I literally hated them for a bit and now I'm just pretty passive because I can totally see through them..but subhanAllah the story you quoted from Love for Allah is amazing..and that is one of my favorite books as well!

Dua mein yaad,

This is my favorite post so far =) for lots of reasons

1, thats my favorite book.

2, You made awesome points mashallah. Especially about Bollywood...and India and how it's all so fake. And essentially, people would rather live in fantasyland than face the realities of the world they live in.

3. I agree about love. I personally do not believe in love before nikkah. Mercy is a big part of love---and in my opinion, that is something injected between two human beings at the time of nikkah. We think we like people--we even think we like them a lot, but at the end of the day, it really is not love. It is habit--ppl get in the habitof the other person. Its attachment. But love is a creation of Allah---it is something that is so pure that it can be felt towards Him. So then really, how can that emotion that has been given such a place by Allah that it is worthy of being projected towards Him, also be a part of something haraam. I dont see how that is possible.

Good job mA Haseena. loved it!

movie= kahoo naa pyaar hai.
but the movie really did suck. Indian movies do suck in terms of the sentiments behind them. but lol I think I watch things for entertainment, so it doesnt bother me as much. but I SO GET the you "analyzing movies" ....I can so imagine you doing it haseena!!! =)

but I really loved your post. our hearts really get attached to all these false notions around us. and its so important to know whats real and whats not- to be able to discern bw reality and fake-ness. I love the story in the end: half the time we think we love things but we really don't. we dont know whats good for our hearts...we dont even know how to analyze our hearts. so the only thing we can actual comfort in is love for Allah swt as the goal- nothing else. but yea, ok so that's what I thought abt after reading this. good job!!!! woohoo!

Well, this post was completely awesome. I could not agree more. I think its so interesting how we become attached to certain ideas when we're younger, like the thought of "falling in love" and "finding the one" and in reality, its a result of the corruption we're fed through the entertainment industry. I hate hollywood, and bollywood even moreso. I mean, not hate, but in retrospect, the world would be far better off without all these dumb movies in which people fall in love, over, and over, and over again. I remember watching A Walk to Remember, really good movie, (which is pretty hypocritical of me to say) but after I watched it, I was like, wow, where are all those guys that to that stuff. It really makes you attached to this ideal version of some guy who doesnt even exist!

The story you related from Shaykh Zulfiqar is enough to suffice. Love of Allah and attaching oneself to that which is real, subhanAllah, what a beautiful example. The allegory of this one story alone is so deep and so profound! It made me kind of upset that the princess was sooo dumb, and would use that as an excuse to go meet him, what an idiot. .

Anyhow, I really enjoyed this post Haseena <3
